Slidin Fast; sorry you had bad luck with the DNA. I have met many who have contacted unknown relatives. My own niece found her birth father and his family. Over 20 aunts and uncles! My father's own father was a mystery. At 89 he found out he was the firstborn of the only father he knew and loved. But his birth certificate said different. DNA confirmed that when he changed his name to the one on his birth certificate he actually gave up his true birth name. He died with the knowledge the mystery of his birth father was finally cleared up. Thank god for Ancestry DNA.

Tell him sorry. Then tell him to pull his head out and look forward not back. Have a birthday cake on valentines day, make a toast and give him a Christmas card, then ask if he feels better and wish him good luck. Count your blessings.

I shall tell unto you and thou shalt be the one who knows what thine fellows would wish to have imparted unto them. that also believe. Whoa unto the horse that will not stop. Again, Whoa I say! -

How does the "slave" turn 11 into 500?
by The Fall Guy inat matthew 28:16, the alleged "faithful slave" changes the number of people whom jesus invites, from 11 to over 500 - in order to "prove" that men, women, and children were commanded to preach.*.
3 - “jesus’ 11 faithful apostles...went to a mountain in galilee to meet the resurrected christ!....“upward of five hundred brothers” may have been present on that occasion.” (or may not!).
other disciples are there too, about 500 of them,.

The Latest Thing Waking People Up...
by pale.emperor insince i woke up and left i've been contacted by others i knew from my youth who've also left the cult.
also people around the world on facebook adding me out of the blue because we have mutual friends and they occasionally ask me stuff or share their story.. what i've noticed in the vast majority of cases, is that people are waking up not because of the arc or doctrine but apathy.
active jws are becoming less and less interested, less and less bothered.

We used to be waiting to live. All our JW life was on hold until the reward. I got to thinking, "What if this reward business is bullshit? Then I have wasted the one life I have. Dropped it all pronto. Of course there was more involved but that sums it up.

These two are hilarious and I gave up watching them a long time ago. Why wouldn't a poor congregation use a single wide? Sheesh.

A Writer's Graveyard
by compound complex inimmersed in dickens and hawthorne, i cannot easily shake off the dusty antiquity of a bygone era.
however, its scant reality inhabits, not the present, but my sad hearkening back to the shadows of long ago.. hot blood pulses anew within fingers i thought stilled forever in a writer's graveyard of unwritten verse.
it is a reluctant awakening to a life much sadder than that endured by storybook friends who cannot see me, know me.. permit me, therefore, to reenter that precious twilight betwixt my present and the past, the faraway there of dearly departed poets.

Writing comes easy to many. Humility not so much. Thanks for not going off on me. I read about purple prose again recently, something you are not guilty of by the way, and reread about beige prose. I had to laugh. The tendency is to go too far one way or the other. Some would think this exercise over kill. The reality is that the best writing is done in a rewrite. I even reread and write my posts.
I agree, we become word blind when imagination and expression go unchecked. I really like your final draft there, its to the point without sacrificing your voice. Well done.
